Description
Edwin Melendez and his mother speak about cancer in Vieques, about his cancer and they show pictures of cancer victims in Vieques. They speak about the process of becoming a Viequense and being born in Vieques. The group speaks of the arrest of Angel Rodriguez Cristobal, about how there are still bombs in the bomb shooting zone and want to know what the Vieques government did with the money they got from the United States. The group speaks of education and Edwin’s mom says she thinks that the goal is to have all of Vieques’ population migrate away, others agree. Later Ismael Guadalupe is interviewed and he speaks of Le Guillou and the history of Vieques’ founding and how the Navy arrived. Ismael speaks of hospital privatizations and other countries that use the island as bomb shooting practicing areas, he speaks of the Caribbean Justice and Peace Project with Wanda Colon and about how the case of Vieques was presented to congress and the United Nations.
